Baby Leo sat quietly on a small blanket beneath a shady tree, his tiny face filled with sadness. Tears rolled down his cheeks as he cried loudly, looking around desperately for comfort. His little eyes searched for his mother, hoping she would come and hold him close.
Earlier that morning, Leo had followed his mom everywhere. He wanted to stay near her, play beside her, and feel safe. But his mother seemed unusually strict and distant. Whenever Leo tried to approach her, she moved away or gently pushed him back. She wanted him to become more independent, but Leo was still too young to understand.
“Mom, please stop!” his cries seemed to say as he reached out with his tiny hands. The more she ignored him, the louder he cried. His sad facial expression touched the hearts of everyone nearby. Leo looked confused and frightened, wondering why his mother was acting differently.
As the day continued, Leo became tired from crying. He curled up into a small ball and sat alone. Even then, he kept glancing toward his mother, hoping she would return and comfort him.
Eventually, Leo’s mother noticed how upset he had become. She slowly walked over and sat beside him. The moment Leo saw her, his face brightened slightly. He rushed into her arms, seeking the warmth and security he had been missing all day.
His mother gently hugged him and groomed his fur. Leo immediately calmed down, feeling safe once again. Although learning independence is important, love and reassurance are equally necessary for a young baby.
By the end of the day, Leo’s tears had disappeared. Resting peacefully beside his mother, he finally felt happy, protected, and loved once more.
